There are no words for domestic violence in our native languages because traditionally it did not exist. Our Alaska Native cultures are centered around the belief of respecting one another. AKNWRC works to create culturally appropriate resources to discuss and bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence in Alaska Native communities.
